Michael is an experienced communications and media relations strategist. An award-winning journalist, Michael has more than 25 years of experience for major news organisations in Australia, the UK and the US. Before founding the consultancy, he spent a decade with The Australian, a national media outlet owned by NewsCorp Australia in a senior role that combined leadership of editorial strategies and stakeholder negotiation and management with daily production of compelling media content.

Michael is resourceful and strategic, with expertise in building media, industry and government relationships, executing high profile campaigns and managing people, issues and crises in a high-pressured environment to tight deadlines. He has excellent contact networks across senior levels of media, business, industry and government.
Recognition
Michael is recognised nationally for his news media expertise having held various senior editorial positions including foreign editor, political reporter, deputy chief of staff and bureau chief. Michael has won a string of awards for his work including Best News Story in Any Medium, Best Feature and Best Columnist at the SA Press Club Awards, Scoop of the Year at The Advertiser Journalist of the Year Awards, and was highly commended for both the Sir Keith Murdoch Award and Editorial Innovation of the Year at the national News Awards. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Southern Queensland.
